The Rare and Precious Resource
Eiderdown is a rare and precious resource, harvested from the nests of wild eider ducks in Iceland. The global annual production of eiderdown is only around 4 tonnes, and 80% of that comes from Iceland. The island of Æðey is home to the majority of the Icelandic eiderdown production, and it is here that Eider Island duvets are made.
Each duvet is made from 100% pure eiderdown, harvested by hand and made in Iceland. The duvets are of the highest quality and are certified by the Icelandic governing body. They are a testament to the centuries-old tradition of eiderdown harvesting in Iceland, and a symbol of Eider Islands commitment to sustainability and animal welfare.
